Nestled
on top of the city's famous Hawthorne Boulevard,
the Western Seminary Portland Campus overlooks a hotbed of creativity. Everything
from national art, music, literature, and film hails from these and other neighboring areas. This
Oregon city is surrounded by mountains, forests, and beaches that reflect the image of our Creator.
Yet in the midst of all this creative expression and scenic beauty lies a deep search for meaning
and purpose. As a seminary, we want to help you address the cultural tide as God shapes you for
the challenges of ministry.

The Portland campus
is particularly beautiful in the spring time when you see a variety of trees
and plants flowering. If you want to go on a walking tour of our campus, just click on the below
image. Our campus is in the Mt. Tabor neighborhood and nestled next to the Hawthorne District. The
east and west boundaries of the campus are SE 57th Avenue and SE 55th Avenue and the north and south
boundaries are SE Madison Street and SE Hawthorne Blvd. If you walk down Hawthorne Blvd you will
find a variety of shops and eateries. If you go NE just a few blocks you will find the entrance
of Mt. Tabor City Park. Although we’d encourage you to come and visit us in person, hopefully
this will give you a little taste of our campus and the surrounding area.
Portland experiences a temperate climate, with mild, damp winters and relatively

can reach that mark or below 37 nights per year, however. Cold snaps are short-lived, and snowfall
occurs no more than a few times per year. The rainfall averages about 35 inches per year in Portland.
