The case can be built logically with four assertions.
First, the biblical Gospel is the hope of the world.
Second, the Gospel has compelling credibility when it is proclaimed by a spiritually healthy church.
Third, certain ministry roles—especially those associated with leadership—exert a disproportionate influence upon the spiritual health of the church.
Fourth, Western equips men and women to fill those kinds of influential ministry positions.
Put these statements together and you have Western’s mission:
“Western Seminary serves as a catalyst and resource for spiritual transformation by providing, with and for the church, advanced training for strategic ministry roles.”
