This Northern California campus is located in the state’s capital city of Sacramento, nested in the San Joaquin Valley. The city is a growing urban center with a focus for technological, agricultural, and political progress, housing one of the most ethnically diverse populations in the nation. Locals love having mountains and coastline nearby.
The Sacramento Campus is a fast-growing campus, made up of students who are diverse in both ethnicity and ministry aims. In fact, the majority are already involved in ministry work and careers. Our focus on convenient class scheduling options ensures that we’re well suited to train this kind of student, utilizing a variety of on-campus scheduling options and a robust catalog of online courses through Western Seminary Online campus. And small class sizes ensure that students enjoy personal attention from experienced professors who care deeply for their spiritual formation and ministry impact.
This campus was founded in 1991 on the campus of Arcade Church. It is located just four miles
south of Interstate 80, and eight miles northeast of Downtown Sacramento.

The Sacramento Campus is well-equipped for an excellent learning experience. Housed on a large
church campus, it offers three classrooms, staff and faculty offices, a student lounge, as well
as the largest theological library in
the Sacramento region.
This and all other Western Seminary campuses are non-residential, as we serve part-time and full-time
students who wish to engage in seminary training without relocating.
“Don't
hesitate to attend Western Seminary. The training I received impacted me personally,
spiritually, and intellectually. The courses, professors, staff, and other students were a great
resource in terms of helping me hone my skills, detecting areas of growth and what to do about
it, and helping me to make God my focus – not education.”
Susan Wright, Women’s Ministry Director and Small Groups Coordinator
