"Western Seminary is committed to gospel-centered transformation. For us, that is not a marketing slogan; it is a life-embracing conviction, which is shared by every member of the Western Seminary staff, administration, and faculty. And this shared conviction is what brought me here (and keeps me here). It has been said, 'Theology that is not in service to the church is idolatry.' In its best form, a seminary exists to support the life and work of the church. Our mission statement says, “Western Seminary serves as a catalyst and resource for spiritual transformation by providing, with and for the church, advanced training for strategic ministry roles.” I emphasize the phrase, “with and for the church,” because it highlights the fact that our existence as a school is rooted in the church and our ongoing relationship with it. I am blessed to serve a seminary that serves the church!"
