The Navigators Seminary Partnership
To know Christ and to make Him known is the aim of the Navigators. Western Seminary trains students to bring about gospel-centered transformation. Recognizing this hand-in-glove mission fit and our shared theological foundations, our two organizations have partnered to offer special benefits to Navigators staff who seek seminary training to enhance their discipleship ministry. And with accessible class scheduling at campuses online as well as in Portland, San Jose, Sacramento, and Seattle you don't have to leave ministry to embark on your training.

Cut costs with the Navigators Ministry Partner Grant
Get first-rate ministry training from a seminary you trust while trimming your tuition costs. Full-time Navigators staff receive the Navigators Ministry Partner Grant, as can their immediate family. This scholarship may not be applied to Western Seminary coaching courses (except for the Certificate in Transformational Coaching program). The scholarship does not cover course or program fees.
Contact an Admissions Counselor to learn what percentage of tuition this grant will cover. Then submit your aid application online on our Student Information System (S.I.S.).
Count previous training toward a seminary degree
If you've completed previous studies in ministry with the Navigators, you may waive credits from your degree program through an Advanced Standing interview. Learn about the possibilities for reducing the length of your program.
Audit one seminary course each year, for free
If you don't need a degree or credit for your training, you may take up to one seminary course per year for personal enrichment -- at no cost. And you'll get to choose which subjects to focus on from a wide range of course options. Simply login to SIS and click on "Registration" to enroll in your first course.
Complete practicum requirements in your Navigators context
Many Western Seminary degree programs require multiple semesters of mentored ministry internship, called Ministry Formation. Your involvement with the Navigators as a staff member is pre-qualified to serve as your placement during those formational semesters of practicum.
