Measles Immunization Documentation

The State of Oregon (OAR 333-050-0130) requires that anyone born after January 1, 1957, show proof of Measles (MMR) immunity through documentation of vaccinations or other approved means. Portland Campus students (though counseling see below) needing to meet this requirement must submit the MMR Form to studentservices@westernseminary.edu with requiired documentation to avoid having a S.I.S. registration hold put on their account which will not let them register for classes in their second semester. Failure to provide documentation means we are legally obligated to prevent you from attending classes after your first semester.

International Students:  As an international (non-U.S. citizen) student, you are required by law to have received at least the first of two doses of measles (Rubella) vaccine no more than 28 days prior to the beginning of your class attendance at Western Seminary. You will then be required to receive your second dose prior to attending classes in your second semester.

Counseling Students:  You will need to submit the MMR Form to Kendra Huntington in the counseling office before open registration during your first term to avoid a hold. For program and practicum site eligiblity, counseling students will need to provide proof other required and suggeted immunizations. These immunizations are an important way to protect your health in community and public mental health settings. More information will be sent to you from the Counseling depratment as you get closer to your practicum.
