Housing in Portland
Our campus does not offer on-campus living, and so when relocating, finding housing can be one of the biggest obstacles to overcome. That’s why we’ve collected some resources that you can use to see what’s available for rent here in Portland.

Do you hope to live near and become part of a particular church community?
If you have already found a church you will fellowship with, you can always contact them for any possible housing leads. If you want to leave this option open when you move to Portland, try signing a month-to-month or 6 month lease instead of a year long one so that you have the flexibility to move closer to your church community.
Do you want to get around without a car?
Portland has an excellent public transportation system that allows students to access all areas of the greater Portland area called Trimet.
A navigational note: Portland is divided into 5 regions, N, NE, SE, SW, and NW. A street called Burnside runs East to West and divides Portland North/ South. The Willamette River, which runs North/South, divides Portland into East and West sides. Streets on the east side that run North to South are numbered and increase numerically as one moves away from Downtown. Thus, Western Seminary is South of Burnside and 55 blocks east of downtown. This is important to keep in mind as you look for a place to live and helps tremendously when trying to find your way around!
